Kobby is an Associate with the Corporate Commercial practice group of the firm. Kobby has worked on a number of corporate transactions, which include cross-border mergers and acquisitions, project finance, joint ventures and technology transfer agreements. He provides advice to both local and international companies on issues pertaining to corporate and regulatory compliance. He has advised companies in the telecommunications, fin-tech, insurance, football and gaming industries. He has a broad range of experience in data protection, consumer protection, technology, employment and immigration and intellectual property. Kobby has worked for several local and international clients including Meta (Facebook), Scancom Plc (MTN Ghana), Vodafone Ghana, Amazon, Newmont, Tiktok, Samsung and Bayport.
Kobby holds an LLB from the University of Ghana and a qualifying certificate from the Ghana School of Law. He is a member of the Ghana Bar Association.
- Advised on change in significant shareholding, tax implications of the realisation of shares and redundancy following the acquisition of shares in a leading telcommunications company.
- Advised on the sale of assets and liabilities of a pan African merchandising company under a sale of business agreement.
- Reviewed the branding and management agreement under a $43 million project financing transaction for the completion of an ultra-luxury hotel apartment.
- Advised on foreign investment for the establishment of an international video-on-demand streaming platform in Ghana.
- Advised on the commercial and litigation risk on a bug issue of a multinational technology company
- Advised a gold mining company on the reorganisation of its employment structure.
